Louis Smolka's submission win over Paddy Holohan didn't go down well with the UFC Fight Night Dublin crowd at all but the American still reserved some admiration for the passionate supporters at the 3 Arena.

After winning the main event fight, many fans threw beer in the direction of Smolka but he seemed to almost respect the fans for their passion, likening it to the atmosphere in his own home city.

"With passionate fans you have to expect a lot of backlash and things like that. I was kind of expecting it, it wasn't that bad to be honest. Of course someone is going to get mad if you beat their home-town boy. It would be the same if we fought in Hawaii. They would be throwing sh*t, screaming, it would be pandemonium," he said.
