'If they come with an offer, we are willing to entertain': Conor McGregor could end up in WWE during UFC hiatus
Given his outsized personality, constant quips and impressive athleticism, Conor McGregor has often been compared to a professional wrestling character.
The trash talk that swirls around McGregor's UFC fights resembles a foul mouthed build-up to a big WWE pay-per-view, and fans have always speculated as to whether the Dubliner might one day join Vince McMahon's stable.
After his latest win at UFC 205, which made McGregor the first fighter in the company's history to hold belts in two weight classes at the same time, the 28-year-old announced that he was taking a break from the sport to prepare for the arrival of his first child.
However, even though many anticipate that McGregor will relax alongside his partner Dee in advance of the birth, others have speculated that the hiatus could be a perfect time for him to explore the world of professional wrestling.
WWE star Triple HHH's presence at ringside for McGregor's win over Eddie Alvarez fuelled those rumours, and the Irishman's agent, Audie Attar, has revealed that any offer from the wrestling promotion would be 'entertained' - if the money was right.
"I think it's all about business, man," Attar told ESPN's 5ive Rounds podcast.
"If [WWE] is going to come with an offer, we are willing to entertain it. We are here. Have their people call his people -- which is me. We can have a conversation."
Previously, Floyd Mayweather and Ronda Rousey have crossed over to WWE to appear at their flagship Wrestlemania pay-per-view. This year's event takes place in Orlando on April 2 in Orlando, Florida.
