Floyd Mayweather has dismissed Conor McGregor as a joke and someone he does not take seriously after the Irishman claimed he would "kill the boxer inside 30 seconds".
The Notorious caused quite a stir earlier this week when he claimed that world champion Mayweather would not cope with his speed and agility as the boxing v MMA debate stepped up a notch.
McGregor has also claimed recently that his July world title fight with Jose Aldo will be as big as the Mayweather v Pacquiao mega fight in May.
But, according to TMZ Sports, Mayweather doesn't even take McGregor seriously.
"I don't take that dude seriously. He's just trying to get himself some publicity."
Mayweather's title fight with Manny Pacquiao on May 2 is the biggest thing to happen to the sport played under the Queensbury rules in a very long time.
Naturally, Conor McGregor News">McGregor was asked his opinion on the fight in a recent interview with Esquire and how he thought he would fare against Mayweather if they came face-to-face in the ring.
"I look at him as a rookie in 10 other areas. If you can box, what happens if I grab hold of your legs?," McGregor said.
"If you put me face-to-face with Floyd Mayweather—pound-for-pound boxing’s best—if I fought Floyd, I would kill him in less than 30 seconds.
"It would take me less than 30 seconds to wrap around him like a boa constrictor and strangle him."
