Arnold Schwarzenegger has challenged anyone who wants to shoot a lion to step into the Octagon with Conor McGregor first!
The Terminator is outraged at the recent slaying of Cecil the Lion and is a huge supporter of the National Geographic's Big Cats Initiative.
There was worldwide outrage last week when Cecil the Lion – a national symbol for Zimbabwe conservation efforts – was found skinned and beheaded less than 40 miles from the national park were he lived with his pride.
It is believed that a dentist from Minnesota paid €50,000 ($55,000) to shoot and kill the much-loved lion with a bow and arrow three weeks ago.
Someone asked. Killing a lion isn't ballsy. Going into the octagon or joining the military - that's ballsy. Try that before you kill a lion.— Arnold (@Schwarzenegger) July 29, 2015
The animal was lured from the national park, were it is illegal to hunt animals, and was shot with a crossbow.
Schwarzenegger has taken to social media to deter any would-be hunters in the future.
"Someone asked. Killing a lion isn't ballsy. Going into the octagon or joining the military - that's ballsy. Try that before you kill a lion," he tweeted.
"Before you shoot a lion, step in the octagon with @TheNotoriousMMA or @ChrisWeidmanUFC. Good luck! #5forBigCats."
