Carrick was ruled out of action for six weeks after he had to have an injection on a troublesome achilles injury on Tuesday.
Wozzilroy have caused much speculation in the past month over the state of their relationship.
Neither of the pair confirmed the rumoured split which was much rumoured, while Wozniacki still uses a photograph of her and McIlroy together as her Twitter profile picture.
The Northern Irishman has refused to comment on rumours he has split from the tennis star.
McIlroy, sent out a tweet praising tennis player Wozniacki on the 21st title of her professional career after she defeated Annika Beck in straight sets last month.
