Liverpool are slight favourites to be top of the Premier League on Christmas Day
Liverpool are slight favourites at 5/6 with Paddy Power to be top of the Premier League table on Christmas Day, with current pacesetters Arsenal quoted at Evens and Chelsea 12/1 to climb above that pair.
The Reds are two points behind the Gunners but will reach the summit if getting the better of Cardiff at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime as they seek to make it eight home wins out of nine this season.
Last week's amazing 5-0 triumph at Tottenham took their recent goals tally to 22 in six matches, with Luis Suarez responsible for half of those, and could prove decisive in the race to secure Festive bragging rights.
As Arsenal have an inferior goal difference, they would then have to beat Chelsea at Emirates Stadium on Monday night to return to top spot, while the Blues have to hope Liverpool slip up and then they claim maximum points against the Gunners to move into pole position.
"Since the Premier League began, nine teams who were top at Christmas have gone on to the lift the trophy in May and Arsenal fans will be hoping to join that group," said a Paddy Power spokesman.
"They are currently Evens to be leading the race on the 25th, with Chelsea, their opponents on Monday night, at 12/1 to leapfrog them and Liverpool. Luis Suarez and Co are currently in second spot but are 5/6 favourites to sneak to the top of the tree."
The Irish firm are also offering odds on which team will pick up the most Premier League points over the hectic Festive period, with Manchester City 4/1 favourites to fare best in the run of four games in 10 days as they face Fulham, Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Swansea.
Arsenal are next best at 5/1 in this mini league as they take on Chelsea, West Ham, Newcastle and Cardiff, while Manchester United are 6/1 to string a run of good results together when meeting West Ham, Hull, Norwich, and Tottenham.
The Paddy Power spokesman added: "Manuel Pellegrini's side are favourites to make the most of a 10-day Festive football fest and after their 6-3 hammering of Arsenal the club are also now favourites to reclaim the Premier League title in May."
Suarez is 3/1 favourite to be the top individual scorer from December 21 to January 1 inclusive, with Manchester United star Wayne Rooney 11/2, City pair Alvaro Negredo and Edin Dzeko 13/2 and 7/1 respectively in Sergio Aguero's absence and Olivier Giroud of Arsenal 9/1 here.
After a recent spate of managerial casualties, Tottenham and West Brom are looking for new chiefs, with Frank de Boer being heavily backed to succeed Andre Villas-Boas at Spurs and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now favourite to replace Steve Clarke as Albion boss.
On the other side of the world, Australia are 4/5 at Spreadex to inflict more Ashes misery on England in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne and 2/1 with that firm to wrap up a 5-0 series whitewash by prevailing there and in Sydney.
The Three Lions are generally 7/2 to bounce back with victory in the fourth encounter, 16/1 to come out on top in the last two matches and 7/4 with Stan James to salvage some pride by winning any Test of what has been a brutal battle for Alastair Cook and Co.
