'Wrong bloody line!' - Watch the embarrassing moment a rugby player celebrates a 'try'
It will be a moment that one rugby player will not live down for a long time.
In a National League Three match in England at the weekend, Brixham’s Tom McLean thought he had scored a try that could have helped his side to victory in awful weather conditions.
Bearing down on the try line, McLean flung himself over what he thought what was the try line before jumping up to celebrate with team-mates.
Unfortunately for him, it was the five metre line he slid over, and was soon met with thumping tackles from the oncoming Barnstaple opponents.
Brixham lost the encounter 6-0 in horrible weather conditions, so the mistake was a costly one and club captain Adam Thomas told the Torquay Herald Express that his team-mates seized the opportunity to make fun of the incident after the game.
"Tom had the mick ripped out of him on the bus back by his team-mates. It didn't help that had he run or slid a couple more metres it really would have been a try,” he said.
“No one blamed Tom for costing us the game though. He was won loads of games for us in the past with his tries – and I am sure he will win plenty more in future."
