He’s unlikely to be given a shirt for Euro 2016, but world’s best golfer Jordan Spieth gladly accepted his own personalised Ireland jersey today.
Ranked number one in the world, the 22-year-old is a two-time Major winner and his rivalry with Rory McIlroy is expected to light up golf courses right around the world in 2016.
Today however his attentions were turned, if only briefly, to a different sport when Irish caddy Kenneth Quillinan, spotted the opportunity to present the American star with his very own unique jersey.
Kerry native Quillinan is carrying the bags for Niall Turner at the Singapore Open which commences tomorrow and handed Spieth a green jersey with his name and world ranking on the back.
“Ireland for the Euros now with World Number One support! You must come to @McIlroyRory Irish Open in 2017,” the freelance golf writer tweeted afterwards.
