Why Paul O'Connell is not happy with his World Cup room decoration

Former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton shouldn't take any offence, but Ireland captain Paul O'Connell is not over-joyed with the choice of picture in his current hotel room.

Joe Schmidt's side got their World Cup campaign off to a flying start at the weekend with a 50-7 victory over Canada, with the first-half performance in particular pleasing to all Irish supporters.

Indeed the only real blot on the copybook was the yellow card dished out to O'Connell for a needless challenge during the comfortable victory.

The squad are now gearing up for their next encounter when they take on Romania on Sunday and will be based at St George's Park for most of the week.

With training facilities custom-built for the English FA, the IRFU chose wisely with the location, but the widespread memorabilia honouring past English greats is not to everyone's taste.

Toulon-bound O'Connell took to Instagram to suggest a change in interior decoration.

Peter Shilton watching over me tonight. I'd rather Packie Bonner.
