Sometimes even elite athletes need a rest.
And when Serena Williams was half way through the eponymous Serena Williams Live Ultimate Run in Miami Beach, she decided to do the sensible thing.
She hailed a taxi.
Around 3,000 athletes were running in the fundraiser for the Serena Williams Fund, which helps “individuals and communities affected by senseless violence, and [promotes] equal access to education.”
Serena says she's determined to run the full distance next year.
“I didn’t run the whole way this year,” she said, “but next year I will.”
