'Please bring me to Carrigstown!' - Colm Cooper begs to go for a drive to McCoy's

Jack O'Toole

RTE pundit Colm Cooper begged RTE commentator Des Cahill to bring him to Carrigstown, the fictitious hub of Fair City, which has acted as the backdrop to the long running storyline of Katy's kidnapping.

Viewers have been teased for weeks that Katy's escape from her captor Ciaran may have been imminent - and now it looks like she could finally be about to make a break for freedom - after she attacked Ciaran in Sunday's episode.

Seemingly a fan of the show, Cooper wanted to get a taste for Carrigstown and the background to the show's prolonged storyline.

Cahill said he initially feared that Cooper may have been kidnapped while en route to the fictitious pub McCoy's, but with former Dublin midfielder Ciarán Whelan keeping guard in the background, Cooper appears to be in safe hands.
