Napoli striker robbed at gunpoint before thief makes unusual request

Napoli striker Lorenzo Insigne was robbed at gunpoint while driving in Naples during the weekend.

According to his agent, Insigne, who was accompanied by his wife and two friends, pulled up to a traffic light, before a gunman riding pillion on a motor bike pulled up to the car and demanded the foursome give over their valuables.

As reported by local media, when the motor bike was departing the scene, the culprit requested that Insigne dedicate a goal to him in tonight’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina.

The thief made away with a Rolex Watch, jewellery and €800.  “Lorenzo suffered a terrible experience and told me that it was a really bad moment,”  his agent, Antonio Ottaiano, is quoted as saying.

However, the striker is expected to line out this evening. as he seeks to add to his 11 league goals.
