Kerry star James O'Donoghue was awarded the RTE man-of-the-match award yesterday as the Kingdom claimed provincial bragging rights, but it wasn't an opinion shared by many on social media.

The Killarney Legion player hit just one point from play, but was industrious throughout, with his selfless play causing problems in the Cork defence.

His marker however, james Loughrey, also had a fine game under the circumstances, and many were perplexed when Martin Carney named the corner forward as his pick of the bunch despite some outstanding performances by David Moran and Shane Enright in particular.

"Martin Carney was watching a different game," Joe Brolly tweeted afterwards.

Former Roscommon goalkeeper Sahne Curran was equally scathing of the decision.

"#JOD MR BEAN MUST HAVE BEEN IN KILLARNEY #COMEDY DECISION - MARTIN MUST HAVE BEEN IN PADDYPOWERS," he posted on his account.

Eamon Fitzmaurice's side defeated Cork by five points in yesterday's replay.
