Jamie Carragher has agreed to suffer the forfeit of wearing a Manchester United shirt after losing a bet with Gary Neville that relates to Tottenham midfielder Paulinho.
The Liverpool defender entered into a wager with his Sky Sports colleague over the goalscoring form of the Spurs player, who arrived at White Hart Lane two years ago for just under £17m. The 24-year-old was supposed to be a key component as Tottenham set about remodelling the first team following Gareth Bale's £85m departure for Real Madrid.
And after a disappointing first season in which Paulinho scored just six league goals, Carragher backed the Brazilian to find his scoring boots and hit 15 goals during his second year in north London.
But the Spurs man drew a blank in the top flight last season, scoring just two across all competitions, and Carragher must pay the price.
After a lot of of Twitter banter, Carragher has agreed to hold up his end of the bargain with a special cause to benefit from the forfeit and has thrown down the gauntlet to Neville.
