Gary Neville has clearly mastered the art of social media trolling, after he responded to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher in devious fashion.
Carragher was clearly revelling in Neville’s discomfort as the Manchester United legend after their 4-0 hammering at Chelsea on Sunday was concluded with an selfie of Neville leaving Stamford Bridge on a bike. That inspired this message from Carragher, which demanded a response:
Neville duly took the bait, as he served up an image from a recent visit to Liverpool’s home of Anfield, which suggested their best days may well be behind them:

When it was then suggested to Neville that his Twitter activity was an attempt to avoid discussing United’s miserable display in West London, he appeared to suggest he was getting more than a little worried by Liverpool march towards the top of the Premier League standings with this tweet:
Sort of!! I hope they don't win the league or that tweet could be painful! https://t.co/zwWYjWgA5e— Gary Neville (@GNev2) October 24, 2016
These wonderful little Twitter spats between Neville and Carragher are certain to run and run.
