As Mayo’s quest for an elusive All-Ireland football title continues, many people from around the world have been drawn to their cause. Now we can add one of rock’s bad boys to the list.

Former Oasis frontman, Liam Gallagher, was in the west of Ireland over the weekend and provided a bit of publicity for Mayo GAA club, Charlestown Sarsfields.

According to the club’s website, Gallagher echoed the feelings of all Mayo fans by declaring his support with a succinct: ‘Mayo for Sam 2015’.

Between this and the video of the Mayo team crushing the header-bin challenge, it really has been a bumper weekend for the county.
