Ex-Chelsea footballer who earned £25-a-week as a player wins £5.5m Lotto jackpot
An ex-Chelsea footballer has won £5.5m from playing the National Lottery.
Terry Bradbury, 75, was the sole winner from Saturday night's Lotto draw, collecting a total of £5,517,056.
The National Lottery took to Twitter to announce the identity of the winner, and congratulate Terry and his wife.
Bradbury, who made no more than £25-a-week as a professional footballer, represented Chelsea alongside Terry Venables and Jimmy Greaves.
The former footballer, who also made appearances for Leyton Oreint and Southend, says that he plans to use the winnings to buy a villa in Spain.
Terry Bradbury's wife, Eleanor, said: "the villa will be a place where our family can always go on holiday".
"This win will provide our family with security for the future."
The couple revealed that they purchased the ticket in a lucky dip from a local WH Smith near their home in Buxton - see them showing off their lucky balls below.
