Gary Neville has addressed rumours that there is a Liverpool scarf buried under his swimming pool.
According to local folklore, two Merseyside builders (who were also Liverpool fans) buried a Liverpool scarf under the tiles of Neville's swimming pool while carrying out some building work for the former Manchester United full back.
However, Neville attempted to dismiss the rumours in a piece he wrote for the Players’ Tribune.
“There's one thing I simply cannot accept,” the pundit wrote.
"There's a bit of folklore about two Scouse brothers who were doing work on my house a few years back.
"It's something that's never been proven and probably never will be.
"I don't even live in that house any more, but I'm going to put it in my will that if anybody ever finds that bloody scarf, they must follow my final wish — burn it.”
Neville will be cheering on his former team tonight as they make the journey to Anfield.
