Judo Nekoda Smythe-Davis was beaten in the first round

It was an unsuccessful third day of the Judo World Championships for Great Britain and Ireland, with early exits for all three competitors in action.

Ireland's Eoin Fleming fell at the first hurdle in the men's -73kg, beaten in round two by Costa Rican Osman Murillo Segura after a first-round bye. Britain's Jan Gosiewski suffered the same fate against Dutchman Dex Elmont and neither he nor Fleming made the repechage.

In the women's -57kg category, Britain's Nekoda Smythe Davis was beaten in the first round by Hedvig Karakas of Hungary.
