WICKLOW'S promising start to the campaign continued at Pairc Tailteann where they reversed their recent Keogh Cup final defeat by Meath.

With Jonathan O'Neill in superb form from placed balls, the visitors laid the foundations for victory in the first half and led 1-7 to 0-1 at the break even if their goal was fortuitous, with Meath 'keeper Shane McGann dropping the ball.

Stephen Clynch inspired Meath to a commendable second-half revival, but their efforts were undone by some poor finishing -- they tallied 15 wides.
