Waterford and Cork share the spoils in Dungarvan
WATERFORD withstood a fine second half comeback from Cork to earn a share of the spoils in a 0-15 to 1-12 draw at Dungarvan.
Waterford hurlers won the toss and opted to play with the aid of a strong breeze and raced into a 0-7 to 0-2 lead.
They extended that lead further and went in 0-10 to 0-2 in front at the break with Pauric Mahony providing a lot of the scores from frees.
Stephen Moylan gave Cork renewed vigour with his goal after the restart reducing Waterford’s lead to five points.
Conor Lehane and Pa Horgan began finding the range as Cork settled into their running style with the wind at their backs and looked for victory but Waterford clung on for a share of the spoil on a scoreline of 0-15 to 1-12.
