Michael Wadding will referee his first All-Ireland senior hurling final on Sunday, September 5.
Waterford man Wadding, a member of the Roanmore club, has been refereeing for 21 years and previously took charge of the All-Ireland minor final in 1997 and the U-21 final in 2003.
Wadding will be assisted by linesmen Brian Gavin, from Offaly, and Wexford's James Owens, with Cork's Cathal McAllister acting as the fourth official.
"Being chosen for this final obviously overshadows anything that has gone before," said Wadding.
His umpires -- Noel Cowman, Pat Byrne, Thomas Martin and Noel Crowley -- are all from the Roanmore club.
Anthony Stapleton, from Laois, will referee the All-Ireland minor final between Kilkenny and Clare.
