Monday, January 26: All 30 striking Cork hurlers host a press conference, at which they put forward harsh criticisms of McCarthy and board. They say they will disband if the clubs, who they wish to address, don't back them.

Tuesday, January 27: McCarthy responds to the criticisms and say clubs have "big calls to make". Saturday, February 7: Up to 10,000 people take to the streets of Cork in support of the 2008 hurlers.

Sunday, February 8: Cork lose opening NHL game to Dublin by nine points.

Tuesday, February 10: McCarthy addresses the County Board. Says "there is a road we may have to travel" and gets an 84-13 vote of confidence.

Sunday, February 22: The 2008 squad meets club representatives who agree to hold meetings on two motions, one a vote of confidence in McCarthy.

Sunday, March 1: As results of club votes stack in the players' favour, Cork lose to Galway by 16 points.
