Supreme King secures replay

Rathdowney Errill 1-11 Clough B'colla 2-8 LAOIS SHC FINAL

Ross King hit a dramatic late point to earn Rathdowney-Errill a replay after a frantic finish to a thrilling match.

King struck in injury-time from the left wing to level the game, which Rathdowney-Errill seemed destined to win with just three minutes left.

But Clough-Ballacolla staged a late rally, scoring 1-3 in four minutes, before King's score.

Rathdowney-Errill raced into a 0-4 to 0-0 lead after 10 minutes, with King getting all four points. Clough-Ballacolla then hit three-in-a-row, but a goal from King left Rathdowney 1-4 to 0-4 up at half-time.

Willie Dunphy goaled midway through the second half to put a point between the teams, but King hit three points, with Patrick Purcell and Liam Tynan also scoring, to put Rathdowney five ahead.

In a madcap finish, Stephen Maher scored three frees and Willie Dunphy got his second goal to put Clough a point up with a minute of injury-time left, but King forced a replay.
