SILVERMINES manager Paddy Moore insisted that there was no "magic tool" responsible for his side's dramatic second-half revival at Semple Stadium.
Thurles man Moore inspired Silvermines to a first provincial crown, having plotted a third county intermediate success for the north Tipperary outfit this year.
But Silvermines were in real trouble at half-time against Ballyduff – the Kingdom kingpins led by 0-6 to 0-3 at the break and the gap could have been much greater. Ballyduff flashed an early goal chance wide, registered 10 wides before the break and were denied a 14th-minute goal when netminder PJ O'Gorman lashed a penalty just over the crossbar.
But Ballyduff, who lost a second successive Munster final, were outclassed in the second half as Silvermines turned up the heat. Inspired by Jason Forde and David Keogh, Silvermines won the second half by 0-11 to 0-2.
"There was no magic tool, get onto the breaking ball and get as much primary possession as we could," said Moore. "The second half was absolutely brilliant – they went for everything."
Silvermines meet the Leinster champions in an All-Ireland semi-final in January.
