Fingal retained their unbeaten run to set up a crunch clash with Donegal with victory over Fermanagh. Debuting at Croke Park, Fingal were not overawed, with JM Sheridan showing some terrific form.

While Fermanagh were to edge a point early on, Fingal found the back of the net on four minutes when Dave Smyth scored. Moments later, Fermanagh responded with a goal from Sean Corrigan.

Flawless shooting from Sheridan and two points from Brian McCarthy gave Fingal a 1-9 to 1-6 lead at the break. After the turn, Rory Porteous goaled for Fermanagh.

Sheridan added two more points but some well-struck frees from Corrigan saw Fermanagh back level. Sheridan, Peter Daly and Smyth sealed the win for Fingal.
