Quite how it benefited Antrim's U-21 hurlers to be subjected to a 28-point defeat by Tipperary in the All-Ireland semi-final last Saturday is a mystery.

Big semi-final defeats are the norm for the Ulster champions in this grade, yet the system remains unchanged.

Would it not make sense to play off the Ulster championship and then relocate the winners into Leinster?

It works at senior level and would be even more practical at U-21 and probably minor too.
