All-Ireland champions St Kieran's (Kilkenny) overwhelmed the Birr outfit in Kilkenny yesterday. An early goal from John Power and Thomas O'Hanrahan's brace sent them on their way.

Good Counsel saw off Colaiste Eoin at New Ross despite a strong crossfield wind making it difficult. The Dubliners did well in the opening half as the sides went in level on 0-5 each at the interval. Good Counsel, despite having had Declan Foley sent off, dominated the second half.
