A Katrina Parrock-led WIT team claimed a historic three-in-a row in Pearse Stadium yesterday.
WIT did all the hard work in the first half and raced into a 1-6 to 0-1 lead at the break.
The first score of the game came from a long Parrock delivery which deceived UCC 'keeper, Susan Earner to find its way to the UCC net.
UCC had no answer to WIT's phenomenal work rate and support play, though the main difference between the two teams was WIT's ability to take scores from play, while all of UCC's scores came from placed balls.
UCC were dealt a major blow when they lost key player Orla Cotter to an injury 10 minutes after the break.
Two well-taken goals from Fionnuala Carr brought UCC back to life, but it proved to be too little too late, and a goal from Michelle Quilty at the death ensured victory for WIT.
Scorers -- WIT: M Quilty 1-2 (1f), K Parrock 1-1, K Kelly, D Gaule 0-2 each, F Morrisey, K Power, P Jackman (1f) 0-1 each UCC: F Carr 2-0 (2-0f), O Cotter 0-2 (2f).
