O'Sullivan the star in Cork fightback

Cork IT 2-10 Waterford IT 1-11

TWO goals from Cork senior star Paudie O'Sullivan were vital as Cork IT finished strongly to beat their Waterford counterparts.

WIT were too reliant on Eoin Murphy for scores but led 1-6 to 0-4 at half-time as CIT laboured, with Tommy Quaid responsible for the bulk of their scores from placed balls.

With a quarter of the game remaining, WIT led by 1-9 to 1-5, but a fine Stephen White point, quickly followed by O'Sullivan's second goal, levelled matters for CIT, before Jamie Coughlan put them ahead for the first time.

A couple of Quaid frees and a David Drake point gave the hosts two points and set them up for a place in the last eight provided they avoid defeat against UCD next week.
