O'Flynn completes rout
Dicksboro 5-9 Celbridge 0-8
Leinster club IHC FINAL
Kilkenny's Dicksboro enjoyed the benefits of a two-goal blast towards the end of the opening quarter and they never looked back when roaring to a convincing win over Kildare's Celbridge at Nowlan Park yesterday.
The losers opened promisingly and early scores from Billy White and Mark Moloney gave them the advantage.
However, 'Boro hit the goal trail in the 12th minute when Paul O'Flynn raced to the edge of the square to touch home a long delivery from Ollie Walsh and gave the winners the lead for the first time.
Within a minute the ball was in the Celbridge net again, this time after Shane Maher finished a delivery from O'Flynn to stretch the divide to 2-1 to 0-3.
Dicksboro suddenly found their rhythm and by half-time they had streaked 3-4 to 0-7 clear.
Celbridge added just one point during the second half, but to be fair, they were worth a few more scores.
Dicksboro pulled further away with a point from Martin Gaffney and three from Eddie O'Donoghue, before goals in the 58th and 59th minutes from O'Flynn buried the opposition.
