Offaly: The glory years

THE 1970s, 80s, and 90s were a glorious era for Offaly hurling and football.

They won 11 All-Ireland titles during that period and played in 21 finals, including replays.

It has been very different this decade, with only the seniors hurlers reaching an All-Ireland final in 2000. And they were beaten by 13 points by Kilkenny.

Senior Hurling

1981: Offaly 2-12 Galway 0-15.

1994 : Offaly 3-16 Limerick 2-13

1995: Clare 1-13 Offaly 2-8

1998: Offaly 2-16 Kilkenny 1-13
