O'Brien on fire to see off Galway

Limerick racked up an impressive 5-13 to 2-6 win over Galway in Division Two of the national league at the Gaelic Grounds yesterday, corner-forward Eileen O'Brien contributing 3-2 of her side's total.

Niamh Mulcahy picked off five superb points, and Kerry Brosnan and Kate Campbell scored two points each from play. Aoife Donohue and Fiona Healy, for Galway, got 1-1 apiece from play.

Elsewhere, Offaly had a 13-point win over Cork's second string. Siobhan Flannery was in top form, hitting an impressive 2-7 and Elaine Darmody scored 1-4. Arlene Watkins got 0-3 and Denise Luby hit 0-6 for the Rebels.

Derry's Grainne McGoldrick capped a fine individual performance yesterday afternoon with nine points as her side defeated Tipperary 3-20 to 2-6. The Munster side had no answer to a powerful Derry outfit that finished their league campaign on a winning note.
