Kildare 2-21 Kerry 1-16

Kerry manager John Meyler quit after seeing Kildare turf his side out of the competition at St Conleth's Park on Saturday, leaving their dream of Munster championship hurling in tatters.

Mark Moloney scored 2-3 from midfield, while Martin Fitzgerald contributed six points.

Shane Brick was unerring from placed balls for Kerry, racking up 1-8, but there was no denying Kildare, who will now play Meath in the quarter-finals.

Brick dispatched a 10th-minute penalty to the net and added six more points from frees, but Kildare reduced the margin to 1-9 to 0-11 by half-time.

Moloney bagged his first goal from close range in the 44th minute and though Brick brought the sides level again, points from Moloney, Fitzgerald and Paul Divilly edged Willie Sunderland's side clear and Moloney's goal four minutes from time confirmed the result.
