McDermott doubles up in cruise to decider

Donegal 3-13 Louth 0-10

DONEGAL eased into the final thanks to a facile win in Letterkenny. Two first-half goals by Ronan McDermott and another by Steven Boyle had the game over by half-time as Donegal led 3-7 to 0-3.

Boyle pounced after a shot by McDermott dropped short in the 20th minute. Danny Cullen extended the Donegal lead before McDermott got the first of his double in the 25th minute.

Just before the break, McDermott flicked Boyle's ball in for the third goal. Nigel Stanley reduced the deficit with the first score of the second half, but rampant Donegal soon opened up a 17-point lead.
