Paddy McCloskey struck four second-half goals as Derry got their promotion bid back on track with an easy win in Watford.
The corner-forward registered a nine-minute hat-trick shortly after the restart before capping off a fine performance by raising the Oak Leafers' fifth green flag in the last play of the game.
The Derry attack ran amok, with Paddy Henry notching 10 points, nine coming from placed balls. Colm Quinn knocked over six points for the outclassed Exiles.
Derry went in front in the sixth minute when a hopeful puck downfield by Mark Craig evaded everyone and ended up in the net. Henry's dead-ball expertise put the visitors 1-10 to 0-4 ahead at the break, setting the stage for McCloskey's rampage.
