Massive calls await hurling selectors

Try these for hard choices.

Full-forward? Ray Cummins, Nicky English (pictured), Joe McKenna and Joe Canning are the contenders and, between them, have 18 All Star awards. Tony Doran misses out.

Goalkeeper? The standard is so high that Brendan Cummins, one of the true greats of the art, doesn't even make the top four.

Right half-back: Brian Whelahan was selected on the Team of the Millennium but that was before Tommy Walsh arrived and won nine successive All Stars. Peter Finnerty won five All Stars in a glittering career while Tony Browne has been with the Waterford team for two decades.

It's the same in most positions with an incredible range of talent vying for selection on the overall team. Here are the 60 nominations that will be considered.
