Liam Morgan provided the firepower as South Down got their campaign off to a perfect start with a comprehensive victory over Longford at Pearse Park.

Seamus Hannon gave Longford the initiative early on with a goal, but the visitors hit back and were all square at the interval. After the break, South Down pushed ahead after a Paul McAleenan goal.

South Down wrapped it up in the 62nd minute when a long-range sideline cut from Kieran Courtney found its way into the net.
