Late Burns brace gets Rebelettes off the hook

After looking for much of the second half that they would move within an hour of a famous three-in-a-row, Cork had to dig deep to snatch a draw at Nowlan Park.
It took two late frees from Sile Burns to set up a replay, which will take place on Sunday at a venue yet to be determined.
Veronica Curtin's two second-half goals had stunned the Rebelettes. Cork showed their experience, though, to fashion two late chances for Burns.
The Leesiders were ahead at half-time, 1-8 to 1-7. Curtin and Orla Kilkenny fired over for Galway, but five Cork points in a row pushed them four clear.
Curtin's 45th-minute goal threw the game wide open and when she lobbed Aoife Murray deftly from a tight angle 10 minutes later, it was looking good for Galway; but the thrilling finish ensured they have to do it all over again.

Wexford put their recent history of agonising semi-final defeats behind them with a commanding second-half performance to book a final spot at Nowlan Park.
After ending a 22-year famine when they took the ultimate honours in 2007, the Model women were denied by late goals from Galway in 2008 and Kilkenny last term.
It was the Black and Amber in front of them again this time and the Model County led at half-time by 0-8 to 0-7.
The Cats only managed three points in the second half, from Ann Dalton, Katie Power and a Michelle Quilty free, until Denise Gaule struck for an injury-time goal.
By that stage, though, it was too little too late for the Cats as Wexford had rammed home three goals in the final quarter -- from Katrina Parrock and a Kate Kelly brace to put the game to bed.
Scorers -- Wexford: U Jacob 0-8 (0-6f, 1 '45), K Kelly 2-2, K Parrock 1-0, J Dwyer, U Leacy 0-1 each Kilkenny: A Dalton 0-4 (0-1f, 2 '45s), D Gaule 1-0, M Quilty (0-2f), A Farrell, K Power 0-2 each, C Dormer 0-1.
