Lar pondered emigration
Hurler of the Year Lar Corbett has revealed that he considered emigrating in search of work, writes Jackie Cahill.
The Thurles Sarsfields clubman saw work as an electrician in the local area completely dry up, but he announced details of a new venture in the town yesterday -- Lar Corbett's Bar at Coppinger's Bar will be officially opened on Saturday week.
The new business will provide the security he needs off the field to help ensure that he continues to produce effectively on it.
Corbett explained: "How many times do you hear of people going to Australia, America or London and they seem to be getting on very well?
"Every idea would go through your head. I was 30 two weeks ago and hopefully I have one or two years left with Tipperary and a few years left with the club. I'd like to fulfil those ambitions living at home."
