WEXFORD hurling boss Colm Bonnar has named just one debutant for his opening NHL match in charge with Nicky Kirwan getting the nod for the Division Two trip to Kerry.

Otherwise, it's an experienced-looking side for the Slaneysiders though Dermot Flynn plays in goal instead of the long-serving Damien Fitzhenry while Anthony O'Connell stays at corner-back after a solid Walsh Cup campaign.

Michael and Rory Jacob play at half-back and corner-forward respectively while Diarmuid 'Gizzy' Lyng is at wing-forward.

  • Laois have appointed Portlaoise's Brian McCormack as their senior football captain for the season. Meanwhile, Former Kilmacud Crokes manager Nicky McGrath has been appointed manager of Laois side Arles-Killeen, the home club of Laois county stars Brian 'Beano' McDonald and Donie Brennan.
