Kingdom land first Ring title
The Kerry hurlers stormed to their first Christy Ring title, scoring a rare success at Croke Park.
Wicklow were never able to compete with a classy Kingdom outfit that performed with assurance and style and were 1-3 to 0-1 ahead inside the opening 10 minutes, with Gary O'Brien setting up John Egan's goal.
Darragh O'Connell fired over a string of points, before Wicklow had scores from Jonathan O'Neill and Andy O'Brien. The Kingdom led by 1-10 to 0-6 at the interval, and O'Connell raced through for a solo goal two minutes into the second half.
His strike was cancelled out by a goal from substitute James Quirke, who followed up after his penalty was kept out.
But Kerry continued to score at will, with O'Connell bringing his tally to 1-9, and O'Neill pulling back a late consolation goal for Wicklow.
