Kerry survive gritty Roscommon test

Kerry 0-13, Roscommon 0-12

Kerry can consider themselves somewhat lucky to be preparing for an All-Ireland final after overcoming a stiff Roscommon challenge.

Defences were on top for long stretches and it came down to a shoot-out between Kerry's Shane Nolan (mostly from frees) and John Coyne for Roscommon. Coyne was Roscommon's sole scorer in the first half, after which they trailed Kerry by 0-6 to 0-4.

Both sides upped the intensity in the second half and Kerry led by three with just over 10 minutes to go, but Roscommon, with Coyne in superlative form, pushed them to the very limit, bringing the game to within a point.
