Hyland revives Laois challenge
LAOIS 0-20 ANTRIM 0-16
LAOIS all but ruined Antrim's promotion hopes after victory in Portlaoise yesterday.
Brendan Fennelly's Laois impressed in this backs-to-the-wall encounter that revives their Division Two challenge but the exceptional shooting of Antrim's Neil McManus, who scored 13 points, will be remembered.
In a free-driven affair McManus was the scorer in chief but Laois had a dead- ball specialist of their own in Willie Hyland, who scored eight points.
To add insult to injury Antrim will be without Eddie McCloskey, who was sent off on a straight red card early in the second half following a collision with Sean Burke
This gave Laois the space to hurl their way out of danger through Brian Campion, John Brophy and James Walsh.
