Hotshot Dwyer turns tide
castlecomer cs 1-10
dublin north 0-11
Charles Dwyer's seven-point haul tipped the balance in favour of Castlecomer at Clonad on Saturday.
Dublin North looked to be in control after containing an early Castlecomer effort and with Paul Winters knocking over five points, they led 0-9 to 0-6 at the break.
However, Dwyer's seven-point tally proved decisive.
The Kilkenny side's full-back line repelled the Dublin North front line in a low-scoring third quarter, and late on Dwyer was moved into the full-forward line and made an immediate impact. He fed sub Brendan Brophy for the only goal of the game, which levelled the scores.
A Ciaran Kilkenny point restored Dublin's lead but late points by Brian Cahill, Luke Maher and Dwyer ensured that it would be an all-Kilkenny final.
