PATRICK HORGAN was the last- gasp hero for Cork IT as they shared the spoils of an exciting tie at Mobhi Road.
Horgan pointed a free two minutes into injury-time to secure a draw for the Cork team -- an outcome that would have been the least they would have considered at the break, when they led by 1-12 to 0-6.
Cork IT looked far the stronger team in the first half, with Horgan's 13th-minute goal putting them in control of the match. And the Dublin IT goalkeeper Finn McGarry made two crucial saves to deny Horgan further goals.
However, the Cork outfit unexpectedly folded after the break and scored only twice in the entire second half, with one of those points coming right at the death.
Substitute Lorcan McLoughlan's point with two minutes remaining put them four points up, but Dublin IT showed real guile to snatch the lead.
Peter Kelly pointed before Harry Keogh hit the back of the net as the Dublin side drew level with just one minute left, and they took the lead when Paul Ryan pointed a free.
However, Cork IT scraped a draw when Horgan pointed a free from inside his own half two minutes into injury-time to deny the Dublin outfit.
The two teams remain bottom of Group B with a point each from two games. Cork IT meet NUIG next week when Dublin IT face UCD with the top three teams qualifying for the closing stages.
