Hickey blow for Limerick
LIMERICK have been dealt a devastating injury blow ahead of their Munster SHC quarter-final clash with Tipperary on Sunday week, with the news that defender Seamus Hickey has been ruled out for between six and eight weeks with a broken elbow.
The Murroe-Boher clubman (25) has confirmed that he sustained the injury to his left elbow with five minutes remaining in the first half of last Sunday's victory over Ahane in the Limerick SHC clash at Cappamore.
Hickey had only returned to the Limerick panel in recent weeks having missed the entire Allianz League Division 1B campaign due to study commitments in America.
Limerick boss John Allen was considering the 2007 Young Hurler of the Year for the pivotal centre-back position against Tipperary.
