Henderson the hero as MacCumhaill claim their first senior crown
Sean MacCumhaill's 0-15
LEE HENDERSON was the star as Sean MacCumhaill's lifted the Donegal senior hurling championship crown for the first time by defeating Setanta at O'Donnell Park, Letterkenny.
Henderson, a county panellist, hit nine points -- seven from frees.
The outcome was tough on Setanta's Kevin Campbell, who went one better by scoring 10, with seven of his points also coming from frees.
Spurred on by Jamsie Donnelly, MacCumhaill's -- from the twin towns of Ballybofey and Stranorlar -- were 0-10 to 0-6 ahead at half-time against the defending champions.
Danny Cullen brought Setanta back within three points on two occasions in the second half, but MacCumhaill's always had the look of champions about them and they held on to make history.
