Antrim retained their title at Casement Park last night against a gallant Armagh side.

Armagh established a 0-5 to 0-2 lead by the 11th minute, with the help of points from Kieran McKernan and Nathan Curry.

Gradually, though, Antrim came into the game with a trio of points from full-forward Darren Hamill and led 0-9 to 0-8 at the break.

The sides were level going into the final quarter, but the holders took control, with man of the match Hamill taking his haul to 10 as Antrim emerged victorious.

Four Neil Heffernan goals boosted Meath to a comfortable win over holders Kildare at Trim.

The local lad struck twice in the opening five minutes, but Kildare regrouped and when Leo Quinn registered in the 28th minute, just a goal separated the sides. But Heffernan struck for his third goal and it was 3-5 to 0-8 at the break.

Midway through the second half, he claimed his fourth and the board read 4-11 to 0-11. Gavin Sutherland netted a late goal for the Lilies, but the damage had been done.
