Guiney sinks Carlow

Good Counsel 3-17
Carlow Schools 0-9

GOOD Counsel full-forward Jack Guiney's personal tally of 2-4 helped see off Carlow Schools at New Ross yesterday.

After trailing 2-12 to 0-2 at half-time, Carlow improved on the restart and reaped reward through the free-taking of Kealan Brennan, who scored 0-5 from placed balls.

However, the game was put beyond doubt when Counsel sub Eoin Kelly scored his side's third goal in the 52nd minute.

In all seven players made the scoresheet for the Wexford college, with Shane O'Gorman the game's outstanding player at centre-back for the winners.
